THE WOOD SNAKE

Intuitive and enigmatic the snake is a symbol of transformation, shedding and renewing it’s skin. Wood snakes are idealistic and fantastic planners… so now is the time to get inspired for next years Lunar celebrations!

Lucky Colours: Black, Yellow, Red

Lucky Flowers: Orchids & cacti

Wood grains are the perfect juncture between the snakes organic free-flowing shape and this years associated element; used as a veneer, cladding or scenically added to other material substrates.

Rippled gold sheet metals imitate natural textures in a slightly more abstract fashion with the help of light refractions creating a gorgeous golden, and perfectly unique finish to clad surfaces.

Lightweight, printable and one of our favourite materials to use! EchoPanel comes in all this year’s lucky colours, and can even be etched to create repeat pattern or scale like textures.

Illusion Films are applied to Polycarb, PVC or PETG to give depth through both geometric and organic patterns - easily illuminated from within or applied directly to fixtures.

Texture plays an important part in the identification of snake like forms. Whether sleek and shiny or rough and scaly; consider how this plays into your display as it can amplify the feeling of movement and tactility.

Winding, wriggly, bending shapes that fall back in on themselves or form perfect geometric patterns create dynamic spaces. Light emphasises these curves and adds a festive LNY touch; be sure to emphasise curves in order to lead consumers to key touch-points within the shopping experience.

The year of the Snake lends itself to creating dynamic retail executions. Flowing forms can define spaces within activations and stores, creating unique experiential shopping experiences zoning the space through the display itself.

Executions can be playful and draw on pop culture references to create memorable interactions. In 2013 Google’s LNY Doodle utilised the classic snake game to engage customers. Combining the snake with other lucky New Year symbols such as the orchid can also add depth of meaning within displays.

Consider bold graphic styling and colouring to really draw consumer’s attention.
